Surfing Fundamentals - Humboldt (3 Hours)
Our technique is pretty much foolproof. With basic physical ability, not only will you be up and riding in your first class, you'll also be able to go out and catch waves on your own!!
About the class:
Always wanted to try surfing? Our Surfing Fundamentals class is intended for those who have always been interested in trying out this exhilarating water sport. Our picturesque beaches create the perfect setting for beginners. Surfing Fundamentals is taught by our instructor, Mike Owens. Owens has over 15 years of experience teaching surfing and will help you feel comfortable on the water. No experience is necessary to join the class. We will provide you with the knowledge to go out on your own and have fun on the ocean.
Throughout your surfing classes, your instructor will be with you at all times to guide you through the process of learning to catch and ride your own waves. The success rate for students is so high, you're pretty much guaranteed to get up on your first surf lesson!

Meet at Moonstone Beach (Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork)
Get gear and equipment
Learn safety in the line up, paddling through sets, timing
Study riptides, currents and swells
Discuss proper gear and board
Work on positioning the line up and take off
Focus on standing
Return to the beach and parking lot

From the south: Take 101 North to Trinidad. Take the Westhaven exit. Once you've taken the exit, take a LEFT at the stop sign. The road will come to a "T". Take a LEFT on to Scenic Drive. Stay on that road and you will see Moonstone Beach Road about 100 yards on the RIGHT. Turn RIGHT on Moonstone Beach Road and head all the way down to the beach.
From the North: Take 101 South to the 6th Avenue exit just South of Trinidad. Take the 6th Avenue exit. Once you've taken the exit, take a LEFT at the stop sign. Stay on 6th Avenue until you get to Westhaven Drive, then make a RIGHT. The road will take you back over the freeway toward the beach. The road will end at Scenic Drive. Take a LEFT on to Scenic Drive and Moonstone Beach Road will be on your right. Take Moonstone Beach Road all the way down to the beach.

Our area can sometimes be a dynamic and unpredictable environment. All programs are dependent upon specific weather conditions and may need to be rescheduled or cancelled due to these factors. Pacific Outfitters reserves the right to make any changes to the scheduling of a class or program. In order to keep our programs affordable, a minimum number of participants may be required. If we are unable to fill a program to a minimum level of participation, we reserve the right to cancel the program. A full refund will be provided in the event of a cancelled or rescheduled activity (upon request for a rescheduled event). Please let us know of any changes in your schedule as well. We ask for at least a 48 hour notice for any cancellations or changes in your reservation. Just give us a call at (844) 926-6566.
